Welcome Big Red to the Private Leisure Centre!

Hello Fellow Windermerians! The moment you have all been waiting for!

Please welcome our new addition “Big Red”! This is our new rink divider!

New Ice Rink Schedule

For the new 2023 ice rink schedule, you will notice that “Family Skate” and “Open Ice” have now been combined thanks to the addition of BigRed. Hopefully this will increase the utilization of the rink as well as keeping everyone happy and safe!

A few notes:

• Recreational Skaters: You are on the left side of the rink, as the legend on the schedule shows

• Hockey Players: Your domain is the right side of the rink! Remember only one net is allowed against the boards (so no second net by BigRed!).

For all you hockey players we also increased Shinny Space so full ice can be used!

If staff are not available at the time, you can take apart Big Red! The dividers are attached via strong velcro. Simply slowly pry the dividers apart and then stack them vertically in the visitors bench (hockey players side of the rink). Please see the photos below for clarification. If you have any questions regarding this please let me know! There will be a reel as well on our Facebook page to show how the dividers go together!

This addition couldn’t have happened without the feedback from all you residents this season and the support from the Board in approving the purchase! Our hope is that with this addition we will increase the use of the rink as well as ensuring proper safety for all parties.
